Corruption is the cankerworm that eats deep into any society, and feeds vivaciously until there is a complete break down, if not spotted and properly dealt with. Most of the nations of the world are plagued with this terrible anomaly, especially nations that belong to the third world. And although these nations would like to break away from their present third world status, they never do, most definitely because the load of corruption would not allow them lift from that lowly place of abject scarcity.

Corruption like a deadly disease attacks the very core of the society, especially the positions of leadership, just like a deadly micro organism would attack the immune system of its host to bring it to submission. It is the major bane of progress for any given nation and therefore more focus should be directed towards correcting this problem. It also breeds injustice and unfair treatment as people are denied deserved redress by the law or are not allowed to some opportunities as a result of their status. (more…)
